Building Better People
Olvera believes in hiring the difference. Diversity of people creates diversity of thought that creates diversity of solutions.
What we all have in common is a character and personality that makes us resilient and capable in change situations.
Olvera Advisors’ academy programme looks to build better people both in how they work and how they engage with their community and the world around them.
Character and Personality Define a Person
While character and personality are both used to describe someone’s behaviours, the two examine different aspects of an individual. Your personality is more visible, and people pass judgement quickly. Your character is revealed over time, through varying situations and experiences.
Personality is easy to read. When we meet someone new we judge them as funny, optimistic, confident—as well as lazy, negative, and shy.
Character takes far longer to determine. Our assessment of Character is made over time through our interactions in specific circumstances, traits like honesty, virtue, and kindliness.

- Confidence: belief in personal ability to find solutions to challenges;
- Optimism: the perception that the odds are in one’s favor;
- Adaptability: openness to new inputs and ideas;

- Responsibility: owning up to personal mistakes and errors;
- Well-being: making personal mental and physical health a priority.
